What different should we try this year?
For years we at Kasve Ltd. have had the tradition of gathering the team together to celebrate “Little Christmas”. After a busy year it’s good for all of us to stop and think about where have we gone and where we are going to – In a relaxed, out-of-the-box kinda way.
We believe that it is compulsory for the commitment of our experts to involve them in our strategy work. It is highly important for us that the company looks like its doers and everyone has the right and chance to develop their future and the company as equally as possible.
Neemo Method as a Tool for Business Development
We believe that a motivated, satisfied expert is a productive doer that brings significant added value to our customers and our job as leaders is to enhance our experts willingness and opportunities to develop and keep motivated every day. Because we were working on our strategy at the end of the year it was only logical to combine strategy work and fun together. This year we have had few new recruits and thus we wanted to get to know each other more deeply. And this is why we contacted Nanna Hänninen.
Nanna Hänninen uses Neemo Method to enable a dive into the deepest secrets of business strategies (among other things). The world’s first photography-based business development tool fascinated us, because with Neemon’s tool it would be possible for us to get to know each other and to explain ourselves better. We would also get to see the things dear to us in pictures. It would be super exiting to see what a colleague’s inner world looks like! We would have a nice collage of how our strategy and strenghts actually look like. How cool would that be!
The workshop itself lasted appropriately for four hours. During this time, we were able to get to know Nannan’s own art as well as the mindsets that can be told through pictures.
How do you see? The “Why Experience”
It was great to experience how differently we interpret the reality and, on the other hand, how rarely do we think outside our own boxes.
Already at this point the discussion brought insights and fun differences in our team!
After the motivational speech we were freed to the city to create a picture about our own strengths. Great dive into “how do I see my strengths” and insights into how others see each other and themselves!
Third task that we had was the cherry on the cake: Strengths of the team.
In small groups we got to think about the strengths and weaknesses of Kasve, and we discussed the pictures through discussion.
It was astounding to see how much easier it was to describe and realize the meanings and each others way to see the world when everything was in pictures! How much insight it gave, when you saw what the other one was explaining – to be able to see things differently created more understanding and deepened the vision of a company’s potential and for sure raised new threats (aka opportunities) that were unknown before the workshop.
Even though the workshop was thought to be a lightweight Christmas party program, the result was even a surprising amount of material that can be used to work on the strategy for 2019 for concrete. The workshop really gave insights that will develop pur team into more solid unit and gives a wonderful visual map on our team.
After an intensive session with deep conversation and great revelations it was good to go to the traditional Christmas Games, the winner of which will never be remembered by anyone. But honor is common!
And here I emphasize that every working community should have at least one engineer. Try the workshop to realize, what I mean.
